I've missed your witty repartee. :-)

I am a very interesting reader. I will sometimes love a book in a certain genre niche and then hate another in the same niche. It can be crazy. But as far as recommendations are concerned, I had J.D. Salinger's Catcher in the Rye recommended to me a couple of years ago. My friend loved this book. I hated it. I really did. And I hate it when I don't like a classic. I also never got into the Shopaholic series, also recommended to me (but by someone who did not know me too well), or my newest one was The Italian Lover. All the blogging world seems to love this book and I thought it was a bore and couldn't finish it. You never know.

I am glad to see you are reading again and I hope it won't be another 10 days before you post again! :)Beccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02706544792110129160noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6382789896183381862.post-55976201728576113702009-03-29T12:20:00.000-06:002009-03-29T12:20:00.000-06:00Outlander and The Eyre Affair are 2 that stand out...Outlander and The Eyre Affair are 2 that stand out in my mind!Sarah at SmallWorldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15306137253094526922noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6382789896183381862.post-37329452571712570432009-03-29T10:37:00.000-06:002009-03-29T10:37:00.000-06:00I am so glad you were able to overcome the reading...I am so glad you were able to overcome the reading slump, Megan. Your description of watching the sunset while listening to a book sounds wonderful--very relaxing.

That's too bad about Heir Apparent. I hate it when a book I'm really looking forward to reading ends up disappointing me.

To answer your question, One Hundred Years of Solitude is one that I read and didn't care for despite people telling me I'd love it. The J.D. Robb series comes to mind too. I read the first couple of books in the series because so many others were raving about them. They did absolutely nothing for me. The series is still recommended to me regularly.Literary Felinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13079276242303738719noreply@blogger.com
