1% Well-Read Challenge

In a joint effort, Chelsea and I have decided to tackle the 1% Well-Read Challenge. We picked 10 books from 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die. We decided it would be more fun to do this book club style. We plan on reading the books together and discussing them privately amongst ourselves. (Yeah, we are just exclusive like that.)

Now I present, in random order, our list!
Cat's Eye by Margaret Atwood
Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden
A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving
Yet to be determined by Jane Austen
Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test by Tom Wolfe
Franny and Zoey by J.D. Salinger
Catch-22 by Joseph Heller

Are you planning on reading any of these books? If so, leave a note in the comments! I have really enjoyed looking at everyone's list of books for this challenge.

  1. Franny and Zoey is kind of my #1 of all time! Great list.

  2. I've read 4 of these! The best in my opinion is Hitchhiker's Guide. I liked Gone with the Wind as a teenager but haven't read it in 15 yrs. Memoirs of a Geisha is a solid romance that i enjoyed. Owen Meany was deep and harder to read and i still don't know if i liked it! good luck.

  5. Hmmm... I've read 5 of those listed (possibly six depending on what Jane Austen you choose). Good luck! How many have you read so far?
