Perfect or Not?

I received Perfect on Paper in order to review it and that always makes me feel kind of weary. But I have to tell you from the first page I have really really enjoyed this book. I am still in the middle of it. Playing reading ADD here, but I am never posting anymore and I am trying to get back into the swing of things.

I have more to say about this book but I am saving it for when I finish it. But I do have one question. The main character of this book is named Waverly Bryson. Do you like that as a character name? Why or why not?

It just doesn't do it for me. I like the Waverly but the last name is just wrong. And I am wondering why I care so much.

In a recent interview author Maria Murnane explained her reasoning for the name.
"I wanted to choose an unusual name for the main character, and after sitting in front of my laptop for a few minutes to think, that name just popped into my head. When I was in high school the stepmom of a girl on my soccer team had a baby and named her Waverly, and I always loved that name. To this day I’ve never heard it used again, except of course for Waverly Bryson. The last name I just made up entirely—I thought Bryson went well with Waverly!"

  1. Hey! A post! I'm proud of you. :)

And I don't mind the name. I actually think it sounds good together. But they probably don't say their last name that much, anyway, right? Weird that you care so much.
