Mailbox Monday

I didn’t get my post done last week. In part I only got one book. And believe me I was excited, but instead you get to see about the books I got over the past TWO weeks. (You know what THAT means. DOUBLE the thrills and chills!!)

Chelsea was generous enough to enter me for winning The Secret Life of a Teenage Siren. You had to enter a friend and since I am so awesome she decided to enter me.

I had never heard of Wendy Toliver previously, but I am happy to know her now and receive this book. I have friended her on facebook and proved both of our awesome by making her reportedly laugh on several occasions. We both know she made a wise choice in accepting me in the first place!

From Wendy’s site:
(the book is in stores NOW!)

I have inside info that tells me she is going to be featured in an author chat with Chelsea very soon. You will not want to miss getting to “meet” this fun loving author.

She realized my fabulousity early on and went ahead and signed my book. Which I will now brag about with the crappy photo below.

Thanks Wendy and Chelsea!

Beth Fehlbaum contacted me through my blog about doing a guest post. She quickly sent me out a copy of her book, Courage in Patience, for me to review. (Look for both of these posts next month!!) Beth is so kind and generous I can’t wait to work with her more.

After a day of hell with my 3 year old, I came back from my errands to find Courage in Patience waiting for me. It was such a nice, tiny reward for the annoyance of my day. It really made me smile.

The first chapter of this book is available online and it didn’t take me long to decide I wanted to read more after reading it myself.

Beth says about herself:
"I write fiction for young adults, although the fiction I write is rooted in truth. Even though I'm no longer a teenager, I still see the world through the lens of a teen, and that enables me to shine light on parts of life that some adults would prefer to keep hidden."

Courage in Patience sounds like it is going to be one fabulous read.

  1. Sounds like you have some great reading to look forward to. Courage in Patience is a title that has a certain draw to it, and caught my attention right away. Goes to show the importance of title choice.

  5. I went looking for a blog to comment on as an additional "entry" in Megan's contest, and it was a no-brainer when I saw this one about Wendy. Who is one of my favorite people--cheerful and upbeat through and through--a terrific author. I love TEENAGE SIREN, and recommend it highly!
